Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain welding quality control plans and procedures.
- Conduct inspections to verify welding work complies with design specifications and industry standards.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) methods like ultrasonic and radiographic testing on welds.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify and rectify weld defects and imperfections.
- Review and approve welding documentation, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
- Investigate welding defects, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Monitor welding process parameters to ensure consistency, reliability, and traceability.
- Qualify and maintain records of welder certifications and qualifications.
- Provide training and guidance to welding personnel on quality standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to select suitable welding materials, consumables, and techniques.
- Stay updated with welding codes, standards, and technological advancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field (preferred).
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Proficiency in non-destructive testing methods and interpretation of results.
